Bradon's 3rd birthday!

I can not believe that my baby boy is 3 already. I am behind on this blog, I know, but wow!! Bradon is such a joy to our lives, he makes us laugh everyday! He is so carefree and free spirited! Bradon is such a daredevil as well, he is not scared of anything! Bradon loves his brother, as well as Landon loves him! They share such a strong brotherly bond, I hope that continues throughout their life! We had Bradon's birthday party at Smithfield Aquatic center because Bradon wanted to have his party at the "swim house like my brudda!" Here are a few pictures from that day!

On April 12th, my big baby boy turned 6. I can not believe how grown he is and how fast it is happening! He is a complete joy in our lives, has a heart of gold, and is a wonderful big brother! He is so smart too! He is definately going to become a brillant man doing something wonderful one day, as of now he wants to be a scientist!
On April 9th we had his birthday party at Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center. Landon chose his theme to be Toy Story 3. And he requested that I make him a strawberry birthday cake (my Mom used to make me the same every year for my birthday!),so I made two cakes- 1 of Woody's vest and the other is just Buzz and aliens out of space! We all had a fabulous time swimming and just having fun! The kids enjoyed cake, pizza, and cheese balls.... then finally (according to them) they got to go swimming in the splash pool! So much fun for the kiddos! Here are a few pics from the day! Hope you enjoy!

NC Aquarium

For Devin's 9th birthday we all headed to Fort Fisher, NC to the aquarium. Here are all the kids together when we first got there!

Here are just some pics from the aquarium and of all of us at the rocks at Ft. Fisher. The view was beautiful but it was way to cool to go in the ocean! We had a really good time. First, we went to the aquarium, then to eat lunch at Big Daddy's Restaurant, and then went to the beach to walk around!

Tornado in NC

Things have been a whirlwind lately and so it's appropriate that I start back with this blog..... we are fine, we were very lucky and blessed! There were 26 tornadoes that touched down in NC on Saturday, April 16, 2011. One went right in front of our house, we watched as it whirled by us and thankfully did not do any damage to our house. The only thing that happened was a initial K garden flag blew away, man were we astonished! The destruction around us is unbelieveable and terribly sad... Please keep the many, many people affected in your thoughts and prayers as many have lost everything, literally!!

Our visit to the Jersey Shore

In June after 10 LONG hours of driving we made it to Ocean City, NJ. We went there on vacation to visit family. We had a lot of fun. We got to go to the Jersey Shore, the boardwalk, shopping, and lots of family time. We all got to meet family members that we haven't meet yet. I am so happy to be reconnected with this side of my family, I just hate it took this long. The drive was long but well worth it to me! Todd says he's not making the drive anymore, we'll see next time if we drive or fly!! Now our family has to come down here and visit!! I am so grateful to all of them for making us feel at home and making it so memorable and fun for the boys!! I love you guys!!

Dinner for Father's Day

I love Paula Deen and her recipes! I like to try to recreate them and hope they taste as good as hers. Well she did a Father's day meal, so me and the boys decided to make it for Todd for a Father's Day meal for him! Landon and Bradon love their Daddy so much, and wanted to do something special for him so here are the pics to prove they cooked the meal themselves. We made orange glazed pork chops, mini mac n cheese muffins, green beans, & crescent rolls- boy was it good! Todd loved the meal and the boys loved taking part in making it for him! Happy Father's Day Todd!!!

My sweet baby is no longer a "baby." Bradon is now 2, and an active toddler. Bradon, you are so independent, you want to do everything all by yourself like a big boy! You love your "brudder" Landon and he loves you. You two have a very special bond, I hope it continues through out your lives. You are so smart and eager to learn new things. Your father and I are so happy and proud to be your parents. You have completed our family. You have your own personality and can show us in many different ways. You want what you want and you don't settle for less. You do show your temper at times with your temper tantrums, but they don't last.... you end up smiling at the end of each day! You love to rock "the baby" at night with your strawberry mimi. We had your birthday party on June 5 from 3-5, it was a splash party. You picked out Curious George as your theme for your party, you are our little monkey! We had cake, sandwiches, cheeseballs, and frozen bananas!

Graduation day has come.....

It seems like Landon was just starting daycare, now here he is graduating from Pre-K! He is such an amazing little boy, he had perfect attendance the whole year! What an accomplishment as such a young age! He knows his numbers to 100, knows sight words for kindergarten, and is learning to read! Landon graduated from Pre-K on May 28, 2010 at 9:00 am from District 7 elementary school! We are so super proud of him and can't wait to see what all he accomplishes in his life!

Landon turned 5 on April 12, 2010. WOW!! That is still beyond me, how can my baby boy be 5 already??He is growing so fast and is learning so quickly!! Landon you are extremely smart and you know it and let me know it everyday... You are doing wonderful in pre-K this year, next year will be kindergarten... where does the time go? Mommy and Daddy and brother are so proud of you and love you so very much!!

We had Landon's birthday party at Wade Community Park on April 10 from 3-5pm. Landon choose the Star Wars theme and picked out his #5 pinata! He had a blast with all of his family and friends that came out to celebrate with him! Thank you all that came out to celebrate with us!

Yes I know and I truly do apologize that I have been MIA for awhile now..... We have been crazy busy lately! Here are some pics to see what we have been up to and I promise to start doing better with keeping you all up to date on the Knox family life.

In February, Bradon was sick for the first time... he had 2 ear infections, so they put him on amoxicillan--- well we know he is allergic to that now! He broke out in severe hives and had to go to Chapel Hill, NC to be chcecked out to make sure he was going to be ok! This pic does not even begin to show how bad the rash was.... it covered his entire body!! He finally got rid of his allergic reaction hives, then had to have 3 shots for his ears then 20 days of antibiotics!! FINALLY a month later he is back to normal!!

Day 2

We had a beautiful day today, sun shining bright and not freezing! I will say that I am getting spoiled with having no time limits or obligations, it's been nice just doing what we want when we want. Landon doesn't have school tomorrow so we will have one more day of carefreeness (I know not a real word)! Here are some pics of our house with the beautiful snow and the boys playing on our own skating rink in the yard......

We were so hoping for snow and lots of it, but we got lots of sleet and a little snow. Oh well, when you live in NC you take what you can get!! It was really cold here yesterday so I didn't even take Bradon out, but we will ALL venture out today!

When the boys first woke up they had to take a peek and see if it had snowed! Here is Bradon looking out the window at our white "snnnooo"!

Here is Landon and Todd getting ready to ride the 4wheeler. Riding was alot of fun, but could only stay out for about 20 minutes because the cold was bitter on your face and hands!

Here is our playset in the backyard. Landon was wanting to go down the slide to slide on the snow and move it off but it turned out it was ice so it didn't even move!

After we came in last night, I fixed chicken n pastry and we all enjoyed a hot and hearty meal! It also actually SNOWED a little last night again so the boys are ready to go out and play........ for a little while anyways. At least today the sun is shining so it shouldn't be so unbareable today!

Box Tops

Landon is collecting box tops for his school. The school is having a competition on which class can collect the most, and the preschool class (which is Landon's class) has never won! So if you do not collect them for anyone or do not collect them at all, PLEASE collect them for Landon to help his class win for the first time!! You can mail them to us, I will send you a stamp if you need one! Landon thanks you ahead of time for helping him in collecting these!

Sorry it's been so long before an update........ things have been wide open around the Knox house! I have been trying to get tax information together for Todd's business as well as our personal taxes; which is NO fun whatsoever!

The boys have been good, staying healthy other than an occasional runny nose........ With the weather being so COLD for the past few weeks we have been trying to stay close to the house as much as possible. Here are a few pictures of the boys nightly routine for getting ready for bed, which includes brushing the boys teeth and they both love to do this! Bradon runs to the bathroom door and says teeth teeth! It is so stinking adorable! Landon of course brushes his own teeth, because he is becoming so big and independent!

Bradon is going through a stage right now where he is fascinated with shoes and boots! He loves to wear other people's shoes and boots and goes around wearing them chanting shoes shoes!! He is talking so much more now. They grow so fast!

Let it snow, let it snow....

I know I know, many of you don't want to see any snow or some of you have seen too much snow this year, but I would LOVE for it to snow a foot!! I truly miss the snow. I moved down to NC in 1st grade and have been here ever since, but I remember the cold fun days of actual SNOW. I remember sledding down hills in 2 ft. of snow, but still having to tredge to the bus stop b/c yes we still had school! It is funny actually, b/c here if it snows an inch schools are either on a 2 hour delay or out for the day! That will be fine with me tomorrow though, I am excited like a little kid to make snow cream and build a snowman and ride the fourwheeler in the snow. I just hope I'm now disappointed in the morning when I wake up...... keeping my fingers crossed! Will let you know tomorrow with pictures if anything happens!!

The holidays in quick review

Happy New Year! This is a New Year and a new blog! I am going to try to start a blog of our family as a way to keep family and friends more connected to us. I hope this is a way that will let you in our life and see some of our life in motion! We wish everyone the best for 2010!

We had a wonderful holiday season this year, and busy! We really enjoyed seeing everyone and sharing the memories together!

This year for Thanksgiving, me and the boys traveled to Pennsylvannia to visit the Turnbull and Roos families (my Dad's side), which was LONG awaited. We had a blast and can't wait to see everyone again!

We got to go look at Christmas lights at Meadow Lights, twice actually. We enjoyed being involved in the live Nativity at our church. We went to Disneyland on Ice. We went to hockey games. Landon got to go hunting with Daddy. We held our annual Christmas Eve party here at our house. We went and ate Christmas dinner at Nana and Papa's house (Todd's parents). So there you have it our holidays in quick review!
